The cornerstone of any great medical spa is the use of medical-grade facials and peels. At Facets, we believe that you can drastically improve the quality of the skin WITHOUT traumatizing the skin. You can achieve a smoother more refined skin texture without causing injury to the delicate dermal tissue. Many medical spas over-peel or over-stimulate the dermis and epidermis leaving the skin raw with severe peeling or flaking. The professional brands we have selected work to respect the integrity of the skin.
Radiance. It’s everyone’s most desirable skin effect. But if your skin isn’t shedding properly, it becomes opaque, causing it to absorb, rather than reflect light. Ultra-violet rays, pollution, severe weather, cigarette smoke and even natural aging cause dead cells to pile up rather than slough off at an acceptable rate, making you skin look dull and flaky, Fortunately, the latest medical-grade super sloughers can melt away dead skin cells and reveal the underlying beauty of your skin.
When you thin down the outer layer of the skin with a gentle face peel, much more light can pass through the skin. This smoothes the appearance of the skin, while creating a translucent, more luminous complexion. Since fine lines, mild acne scars and pore congestion reside in the superficial layers of the skin, a series of gentle face peels can help whisk them away, too!
Facets Specialty Peels:
• Revive dull, lackluster skin
• Smooth the complexion
• Plump and hydrate the skin
• Lessen hyper pigmentation (brown spots)
• Minimize fine lines
• Lightly firm and tone the skin
• Help control acne
Depending on your needs, our estheticians can improve the appearance of your skin by recommending a specific acid peel as a stand-alone treatment, in conjunction with a custom facial, or as part of a series of treatments that might also include Microdermabrasion and /or lightbased therapies such as laser, IPL, and Levulan Blue Light. All these modalities are considered lunchtime peels that will leave your skin looking radiant and ready to face the rest of your day.

Medical Microdermabrasion
An effective treatment for opening clogged pores and for removing dry, rough, sun-damaged skin, fine wrinkles and recently acquired acne scarring; this treatment consists of gently bombarding the skin with a concentrated beam of crystals, removing the outer layers in a highly controlled manner, followed by the application of a hydrating masque and the appropriate moisturizing serum leaving skin softer, smoother and more evenly pigmented. Microdermabrasion has been found to enhance cell renewal and to increase collagen production These treatments can be accelerated by incorporating hydrating or deep cleansing facials or "light to medium depth" chemical peels.
Physician Strength Chemical Peels
The basic concept of Chemical Peels is really rather simple. The pH of the skin (the measurement of its acidity) is 5.5 which is slightly Acid, so that anything that is applied to the skin deviating from the pH of 5.5 will tend to cause some irritation and "wound" the skin. It is in the process of healing that the benefits to the skin are obtained.
Salicylic Acid Peel
Salicylic acid is the new generation of products for improving the appearance of aging skin. Effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and improving overall facial texture; it exfoliates both within the pores and on the skin’s surface.
Microdermabrasian with Salicylic Acid
A microdermabrasion may be intensified with the application of a salicylic acid peel. Salicylic acid is a superior exfoliant that improves the appearance of aging, sun-damaged skin without irritation.
Glycolic Peel
Glycolic acid peels work by stimulating the innermost layer of the skin, increasing skin thickness, and promoting the formation of renewed skin and collagen. This process will result in skin shrinkage, reduction of wrinkling and "crepe-paper-like" skin, softening of "crow’s feet," and often helping to lighten hyperpigmentation.
Jessner Peel
This is a medium depth peel designed for more extensive skin damage. You will peel and flake for about 7 days and turn pink or brown afterwards. Following the healing process, smooth skin will be revealed.
Levulan®
Levulan® Photodynamic Therapy is a 2-part process utilizing both the Levulan® Kerastick® topical solution and Blue Light Treatment. It is used to treat acne, Actinic Keratoses (AK), sun damaged skin, oily skin and Sebaceous Hyperplasia.
